Though I haven’t been giving indie rock music much thought these past few months, I can’t really ignore Aaron Schroeder. I’ve featured him before with glee, and here he is again.
Aaron is a relentless musician with bittersweet stories. I guess that’s what I like about his music – the story-telling. His sound travels along with him like an over-inflated backpack crammed with instruments. His second album will be out in a month or so, Black and Gold it’s called, so until then I’m giving you the taster Aaron layed on me today, an alternative ballroom ditty for the indie heads out there. Gotta love the vibraphone!
It features Justin Meldal – Johnsen, who gave the gift of bass to artists such as Ladytron and Tori Amos. He’s also friends with Air.
